The PRM qualification is administered by The Professional Risk Manager's International Association (PRMIA). Diagnostic Exam: I

The PRM Diagnostic I Exam helps you assess your readiness for the PRM Exam I. These practice tests are designed in accordance with the PRM exam I structure to test your knowledge on finance theory, financial instruments, and financial markets.

The Professional Risk Manager Program is a competitive exam that tests a professional's competence in the field of risk management. This program is administered by The Professional Risk Managers' International Association (PRMIA).

Candidates are required to pass four exams to be awarded the PRM designation. You can choose to take the complete PRM exam in one sitting or in four separate modules, which can be taken in any order over a period of up to two years. The only pre-requisite is membership in PRMIA, which is free.

EXAM I: Finance Theory, Financial Instruments and Markets
36 multiple choice questions, 2-hour exam, testing your knowledge in the following areas:

EXAM II: Mathematical Foundations of Risk Measurement
24 multiple choice questions, 2-hour exam, testing your knowledge in the following areas:
  • Foundations
  • Descriptive Statistics

  • Regression Analysis
  • Numerical Methods
EXAM III: Risk Management Practices and Markets
36 multiple choice questions, 1.5-hour exam, testing your knowledge in the following areas:

EXAM IV: Case Studies, PRMIA Standards of Best Practice, Conduct and Ethics, Bylaws

The PRM program recognizes other professional designations and gives partial credit towards completion of the requirements for the PRM certification. "Cross-over" candidates need only to pass the following exams to receive the PRM:
